| | If there is one thing that I miss terribly about xanga that facebook never really replaced for me was the opportunity to tell in long script the details of my days. Sure, I could write a note of it on facebook, but I feel that facebook is too much like a myspace and not enough like a blog.
Not to mention my dad has now befriended me on facebook and so I have become wary of the whole application altogether now.
So I find myself returning to my old love, and finding the new private page rather confusing, I believe I'll just stick to this little site for now.
As far as blogs go, xanga's always been there for me so I'll see if I can relearn the ropes of this trade.
My life as of now, is going haphazardly well. I have set a comfortable pace of school and classes, and my "job" is bearing its fruit. I have become a rather sturdy student and my alma mater is two games away from holding the title of CIF! If we gain that title, we are gifted rings which have been my goal since I was in high school (seems so long ago now...) Being that I am an assistant coach, I get a ring too! Oh how I'd rub it in all my old teammates' faces...
But let's not count our chickens before they hatch. We play Downey, who had beaten us earlier in the year, though we had not but five of our normal starters. Should be a passionate game, if South is up to it.
I'm happy to say that I finally got my ears pierced. Painful as it were, it has been five weeks and one day since, and my right ear got its first infection. I don't know whether it was because I sleep on my side, or if I'm allergic to anything not gold, but the swelling has gone down considerably, and thankfully the hole itself didn't close up as I've feared.
Unfortunately, not only has my ear been infected, but I've caught my sister's cold. Just as well that I'll be staying up late tonight to write an essay I'm not positive is due tomorrow (oh how procrastination has its excuses). Because my house for one reason or another does not have a single tissue box, I have been forced to use up two toilet paper rolls which left my nose as red as Rudolph himself I'm sure. Tomorrow will be an interesting day if I sneeze a bijillion times during lecture.
I would like to take the day off to recover, but I have not missed a class at all this semester, beside that one incident where a gunman was walking around campus, supposively, and people didn't bother to go to afternoon class so the professor had to cancel it. (Even then, I wouldn't call it missing class since I showed up anyway) Oh, and it wasn't a real gunman, just a ROTC guy walking around with a gun made of wood and the police got trigger happy. Interesting day that was.
My mom's coming down for a few days, and has taken the liberty of inviting her 70 or something year old neighbor who gets the privilege of sleeping in my sister's bed (my sister will be camping it in the living room). I really don't know how exciting the visit will be when we have the elderly tagging along, but we are getting our nails done (expected from my mom) and possibly seeing a movie. I hope it's Sweeny Todd which I have yet to see, but the gore might be a bit much for the tiny lady's heart.
Oh dear, I suppose I should clean my room, that neighbor's house is like a museum, and I shudder to think of what might happen if she sees my room. Might pass out from the sheer, er, disorganization.
On another note, I have defeated The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the gamecube and is in absolute awe! It was easy to play, and only a few times did I have to look up what to do next. After killing Ganondorf, and his death was so beautifully rendered, I reverted to my old past time of OoT and found my right thumb looking for the camera button on the old N64 controller. xD Imagine my dismay, when I could not rotate easily around Link in the fashion I could with Twilight Princess. Gr. But overall, I'm ready to play Twilight Princess AGAIN, even though I just beat it. I was hopeing that by finishing it quickly, I wouldn't become distracted during exams, but that seems to have backfired since I'm wondering around all over for poes and heart pieces, without the aid of a guide. Saira gets so mad when I ride around on Epona or run around as a wolf instead of warp like a normal person, but I love the view. The world of Hyrule is breath-taking in this new version. I especially like the Castle Town, where as the day grows, the hustle and bustle of a city build and just, oh! I just love and hate the realism, but, that's a rant for another day. ;)
Aw, now that I've typed up a rather unhealthy amount of boredom for anyone caring to read, I think I should start up that essay... though my backup plan is an essay I wrote back in my junior year which should suffice for the topic of my composition class. More time to read Laocoon's Children some more, though, good times for me!

(don't feel offended if I don't reply to any commenters who might consider commenting on this rather bleak journal of mine, I have no intention of befriending people on xanga, just spouting nonsense in a public form :] and yes that is hypocritical in some ways and I don't particularly care) |
